The sampling approach for this 1993 survey was selected to be compatible with other surveys completed by NPWS. !\r\n;\r\nAs vegetation mapping was primarily for fire management purposes, the boundaries between forest types which behave in specific ways during wildfire were the most crucial to be mapped, and these different types will be related to moisture and structure characteristics. This was done with use of aerial photographs, enhanced Landsat TM imagery, partially completed draft mapping of Yengo, and local knowledge of NPWS staff.
