NSW Basemap Greyscale

The NSW Basemap\nGreyscale theme provides a seamless state-wide map of roads, features of\ninterest, localities, landcover, property boundaries, cultural data, and 10 metre\ncontour layer in neutral grey colour.

The greyscale is\na neutral basemap that includes many of the features of the topographic theme web map and will allow your added data to\nfeature.

The web map is regularly\nupdated and will show new information captured or sourced by DCS Spatial\nServices. All datasets used in this service are authoritative foundational\nspatial data. Access the NSW Foundation Spatial Data Framework for details and specifications.

NSW Basemaps\nare vector tile, web accessible maps that enable faster loading times for users\nand high-resolution display at all zoom levels. Vector tile layers can adapt to\nthe resolution of a particular display device and can be restyled for multiple\nuses.

The NSW Basemap is made up from elements from\n NSW Administrative Boundaries, Land Parcel Property, Water, Transport and\n Geocoded Address Themes as well as Features of Interest and Physiography\n Categories of the Foundation Spatial Data Framework (FSDF)\u00a0Boundaries

The dataset maintains a positional\n relationship to, and alignment with, a range of themes from the NSW FSDF\n including, transport, imagery, positioning, water, and land cover. This\n dataset was captured by digitising the best available cadastral mapping at a\n variety of scales and accuracies, ranging from 1:500 to 1:250 000 according\n to the National Mapping Council of Australia, Standards of Map Accuracy\n (1975). Therefore, the position of the feature instance will be within 0.5mm\n at map scale for 90% of the well-defined points. That is, 1:500 = 0.25m,\n 1:2000 = 1m, 1:4000 = 2m, 1:25000 = 12.5m, 1:50000 = 25m and 1:100000 = 50m.\n A program of positional upgrade (accuracy improvement) is currently\n underway.\u00a0\u00a0
