NSW Land Parcel and Property Theme MultiCRS
MultiCRS service - supporting requests in multiple Coordinate Reference Systems - Information Sheet
A new series of \u2018multiCRS\u2019 web services have been published to support GDA2020. These new \u2018multiCRS\u2019 services:
\u00b7 have a spatial reference of GDA2020
\u00b7 support alignment with GDA2020, GDA94 or [WGS 84-aligned-to-GDA2020] GIS environments,
using built-in server-side transformations:
o GDA94 < NTv2-CPD > GDA2020
o GDA94 < NTv2-CPD > WGS 84 aligned to GDA94
o GDA2020 < NULL > WGS 84 aligned to GDA94
Note: ESRI software will automatically align by transforming from the sourceSpatialReference (GDA94).
Other software may need to set client-side transformations from the SpatialReference (GDA2020).
The original [WGS 84-aligned-to-GDA94] is still available, without the \u2018multiCRS\u2019 suffix. In due course, and allowing time for user feedback and testing, it is intended that the original service name will adopt this new multiCRS functionally.
NSW Land Parcel Property Theme is a polygon dataset\nthat represents areas of land with defined boundaries, under unique ownership\nfor specific property rights or interests.

A land parcel is an area of land with defined boundaries, under\nunique ownership for specific property rights or interests.
\n\nA property\nis something that is capable of\nbeing owned, in the form of real property\n(land). The interest can involve\nphysical\naspects, such as the use of land, or conceptual rights, such as a right to use the land in the future.
\n\nThe NSW cadastre is an up to date parcel-based land information system\nwhich contains a unique\nidentifier which can be linked of interests in land (i.e. rights, restrictions\nand responsibilities). The\ncadastre includes a geometric definition of land parcels\nlinked to other records,\nsuch as land titles, describing the nature of the interests, the ownership or control of those interests, and often the value of\nthe parcel and its improvements.
\n\nA cadastral product\nor service visualises the boundaries\nof land parcels, often buildings\non land, the parcel identifier, and basic topographic features.
\n\nThe land parcel\nand property theme provides\nthe foundation fabric of\nland ownership. It consists of the\ndigital cadastral database and associated parcel and property\ninformation.
\n\nDatasets that make up the Land Parcel\nand Property Theme include:
\n\nCadastral Fabric
\n\n\u00b7 Lot: Depicts a parcel of\nland created on a survey plan. Each lot may be represented by standard lots,\nstandard part lots, strata or stratum. Each lot has a lot number, section\nnumber, plan lot area, plan number, plan label, ITS title status, and stratum\nlabel.
\n\n\u00b7 Road: Represents\ndedicated public roads which are open ways for the passage of vehicles, persons\nor animals on land. The road dataset includes public roads in use. Each road\ntype has a section number, plan number, plan label, ITS title status, road type,\nroad width or Crown/Council width, lot number, and stratum label.
\n\n\u00b7 Unidentified: Represents a parcel\nof land that cannot be identified. Crown land, vested, dedicated and severed\nland may be included in this category as well as Old System lots for which\nlot/DP identification cannot be found. This dataset also identifies the\nlocations of 100ft wide reserves, ACT regions, closed roads, crossings,\nsurveyed areas, and un-surveyed areas.
\n\n\u00b7 Water feature: Represents tidal,\nnon-tidal and ocean waters which form a cadastral boundary.
\n\nCadastral Features
\n\n\u00b7 Easement (including\nCarrigeway): Depicts a right, attached to land (the dominant tenement), to use\nother land (the servient tenement) for a specified non-exclusive purpose known\nto the law, e.g. right of carriageway, easement to drain water etc. \u2013 however\nthe law also recognises an easement in favour of a statutory authority without\na dominant tenement, described as an \u2018easement in gross\u2019.
\n\n\u00b7 Road Corridor: Represents the\nspatial extent of the legal road network
\n\n\u00b7 Road Centreline: Represents a\nline that forms the centreline of cadastral road corridors.
\n\n\u00b7 Railway Corridor: Represents a\npart of the Land Parcel and Property Theme covering railway land that is not\ndefined by a lot.
\n\n\u00b7 Water feature\nCorridor: Represents the extent of a water feature or the delineation\nbetween water features of a different type or status. The dataset contains high\nwater mark, low water mark, the limit of tidal influence and bay closing lines.
\n\n\u00b7 Watermark: Represents the\nspatial extent of tidal, non-tidal and ocean waters which form a cadastral\nboundary.
\n\n\u00b7 Authority Reference: Depicts the\nchanges to an area definition that has occurred through a gazettal, act or government\nfile action.
\n\nProperty
\n\nProperty data is a polygon feature\nclass that spatially represents an aspatial property description as\nprovided by Property NSW in their Valnet database.
\n\nProperties are divided into three\ncategories:
\n\nLand and property data underpins the economic,\nsocial and fabric environmental of Australia and is used, amongst\nother things, to:
\n\n
\nThe Spatial Services digital cadastral data maintenance program captures all\nchanges to the statewide cadastral fabric from new survey plans\nand a variety of other sources.
The cadastral data upgrade program is\nimproving the spatial accuracy of the cadastral fabric by using survey\ndimensions and improved survey control. Upgrades are carried out together\nwith the relevant Local Government Authority and are\nfurther facilitated through the incorporation of data provided by Local\nGovernment Authorities, Hunter Water and Sydney Water.
\n\nUpgrade positional accuracy varies\nacross the state and generally ranges from less than 5m from true\nposition in rural areas to less than 0.2m from true position in urban\nareas, dependent on the survey control available.
\n\nData quality in both Cadastral Maintenance\nand Cadastral Upgrade is assured through specification compliance and datatopology\nrules.
\n\nSpatial Services is currently\nundertaking a cadastral supply chain digital transformation initiative thorough\nthe Cadastre NSW Program.
\n\nSpatial Services continuously updates this\ntheme with information sourced from relevant stakeholders and custodians. The\nmajority of updates to the datasets in this theme originate from\nsubdivision, registration and gazettal activity.
\n\nSpatial Services works with Local\nand State Government to upgrade the accuracy of Spatial Services\nDefined Administrative Data Sets.

| \n Accuracy \n | \n \n The dataset maintains a positional\n relationship to, and alignment with, the Lot and Property digital datasets.\n This dataset was captured by digitising the best available cadastral mapping\n at a variety of scales and accuracies, ranging from 1:500 to 1:250 000\n according to the National Mapping Council of Australia, Standards of Map\n Accuracy (1975). Therefore, the position of the feature instance will be\n within 0.5mm at map scale for 90% of the well-defined points. That is, 1:500\n = 0.25m, 1:2000 = 1m, 1:4000 = 2m, 1:25000 = 12.5m, 1:50000 = 25m and\n 1:100000 = 50m. A program of positional upgrade (accuracy improvement) is\n currently underway. \n | \n
