Children in child restraints approved by the Standards Association of Australia received nothing worse than minor injury. Similarly, restrained bassinets gave moderate protection. Seat belts supplied for adults tended to be worn very loosely by children and in that condition did not provide adequate restraint. Most of the injuries sustained were to the head region following contacts with car interiors.
