\nThis dataset has spatial reference [WGS 84 \u2248 GDA94] which may result in\nmisalignments when viewed in GDA2020 environments. A similar service with a\n\u2018multiCRS\u2019 suffix is available which can support GDA2020, GDA94 and WGS 84 \u2248\nGDA2020 environments.
\nIn due course, and allowing time for user feedback and testing, it is intended\nthat the original service name will adopt the new multiCRS functionally.
The Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS) brings\ntogether in one framework all the regions which the Australian Bureau of\nStatistics (ABS) and many other organisations use to collect, release and\nanalyse geographically classified statistics.
\n\nThe ASGS ensures that these statistics are comparable and\ngeospatially integrated and provides users with a coherent set of standard\nregions so that they can access, visualise, analyse and understand statistics.
\n
\nThe 2016 ASGS will be used for the 2016 Census of Population and Housing and\nprogressively introduced into other ABS data collections.
\n
\nThe ABS encourages the use of the ASGS by other organisations to improve the\ncomparability and usefulness of statistics generally, and in analysis and\nvisualisation of statistical and other data.
\n
\nThe ABS Structures are a hierarchy of regions developed for the release of ABS\nstatistical information. The main components are as follows:\u00a0

\n\nThe Australian Bureau of Statistics Geographical Standard\nBoundaries,\u00a0Statistical Areas\u00a0are used to define geographical areas\nto support statistical and socio-economic analysis at a state and regional\nscale. They are useful for analytical purposes within statistical boundaries\nthrough the aggregation of a wide swath of data and information.
\n\nThe ABS maintains the Australian Statistical Geography Standard\n(ASGS) and the Australian Standard Geographical Classification (ASGC) for pre-2011\ncensus information.
\n\nIn addition to the NSW Administrative Boundaries\nTheme\u00a0Australian Bureau of Statistics\u00a0also provides this data via a\nweb service direct from ABS.

\n\nThe\nregions defined in the ABS Structures will not change until the next Census in\n2021. The Non-ABS Structures are updated only when the ABS considers that there\nare major changes to the administrative boundaries they represent.

| \n Accuracy\u00a0 \n | \n \n The\n dataset maintains a positional relationship to, and alignment with, the Lot\n and Property digital datasets. This dataset was captured by digitising the\n best available cadastral mapping at a variety of scales and accuracies,\n ranging from 1:500 to 1:250 000 according to the National Mapping Council of\n Australia, Standards of Map Accuracy (1975). Therefore, the position of the\n feature instance will be within 0.5mm at map scale for 90% of the\n well-defined points. That is, 1:500 = 0.25m, 1:2000 = 1m, 1:4000 = 2m,\n 1:25000 = 12.5m, 1:50000 = 25m and 1:100000 = 50m. A program of positional\n upgrade (accuracy improvement) is currently underway.\u00a0\u00a0 \n | \n
