NSW\u00a0Property Address History Service

The Property Address History Service is a combination of datasets from the NSW Land Parcel and Property and NSW Geocoded Address themes that have been \u201ctime enabled\u201d, allowing changes over time to be viewed.

Spatial datasets collected with time information can show what happened at a specific time, or what may happen in the future. By animating time-based data, it can be visualised at each step, highlighting patterns or trends emerging over time.

Spatial Collaboration Portal map layers that are time enabled include different information for the same location at different times.

When a dataset contains time enabled layers, it is \u201ctime aware\u201d, and can be configured to display the data during a specific period or to animate the data over a selected time.\u00a0Time animation can be enabled in\u00a0the map viewer\u00a0using the time slider tool.

How to use the animated time feature

  1. Open the \u201cMap Viewer\u201d.
  2. Select the time enabled feature from the contents.
  3. Select the \u201cConfigure\u201d button (the icon to the bottom right that looks like two slider controls) to open time settings.
  4. Select \u201cShow Advanced Settings\u201d
  5. Choose your desired playback speed
  6. Choose a time and date for \u201cStart Time\u201d and \u201cEnd Time\u201d.\u00a0
    Note. Spatial Services digital data range is 2006 through to present so data is unavailable outside this window
  7. Choose an appropriate length of one time interval
    Recommended: \u201cCount: 1\u201d and \u201cUnits: Year\u201d.
  8. Select \u201cOK\u201d to return to the Map Window.
  9. Select the \u201cPlay\u201d button which is the small arrow/triangle pointing right which is to the left of the slider.
    Note: this data is not viewable at all scales, zoom to 1km or better

The dataset maintains a positional relationship to, and alignment\n with, the Lot and Property digital datasets. This dataset was captured by\n digitising the best available cadastral mapping at a variety of scales and\n accuracies, ranging from 1:500 to 1:250 000 according to the National Mapping\n Council of Australia, Standards of Map Accuracy (1975). Therefore, the position\n of the feature instance will be within 0.5mm at map scale for 90% of the\n well-defined points. That is, 1:500 = 0.25m, 1:2000 = 1m, 1:4000 = 2m,\n 1:25000 = 12.5m, 1:50000 = 25m and 1:100000 = 50m. A program of positional\n upgrade (accuracy improvement) is currently underway.\u00a0\u00a0
