Our estuaries change after bushfires
Data.NSW is the NSW Governmentβs open data portal. Data from other open data portals, such as the Department of Planning, Industry and Environmentβs (DPIE) SEED Portal can be searched for via Data.NSW. In this data story, we share DPIEβs work to collect data on water quality following the 2019-2020 bushfires and release it as open data making it available to the community, informing planning and promoting research.

NSW Infrastructure Data Management Framework
The Department of Customer Service has recently completed work on the NSW Infrastructure Data Management Framework (IDMF), a recommendation of the State Infrastructure Strategy (SIS) 2018-2038. The IDMF provides guidance on the management of data generated and used during the lifecycle of state infrastructure.

Information Access (Open Data) Case Study: NSW Flood Data Portal
The NSW State Emergency Service and the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment launched the NSW Flood Data Portal in late 2017, which aims to improve the sharing of key flood data within government and with stakeholders.
In September 2017 the NSW Flood Data Access Program was launched. This was a partnership between the NSW State Emergency Service and the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage with two main initiatives, the NSW Flood Data Portal, and the NSW Flood Database.
