The Green Point Creek system has been divided into component areas for application of a floodplain management plan. The component areas, illustrated on Figure 13, cover:

• Tourmaline Avenue Floodway Area;
• Tourmaline Avenue - Flood-Liable Developed Area;
• Crystal Avenue Floodway;
• Tourmaline Avenue Culvert Area - currently flood-liable; and
• Diamond - Tourmaline Avenue - Flood-Liable Developed Area.

The specific points applied in each of the above areas involve:

• land use controls;
• building development controls;
• limited channel erosion protection under government funding;
• the bulk of channel erosion protection by land owner finance; and
• structural works, as outlined above with Tourmaline Avenue culvert replacement, floodplain restoration and acquisition of one house.
