Warialda State Conservation Area Stonehenge Section Vegetation 2009 VIS_ID 4760

Warialda CCAZ3 State Conservation Area vegetation mapping was undertaken by Dr John T. Hunter in 2009 by contract for the NPWS Northern Tableland Region. The Warialda CCAZ3 State Conservation Area is located 10km south of the township of Warialda.

The vegetation of the Stonehenge (middle) section of the three Warialda SCA/NP sections is described and mapped (scale 1:50 000). Five communities are defined based on classification (Kulczynski association). These five communities were mapped based on ground truthing, air photo interpretation and landform. The communities described and their status are C1: Black Cypress Pine – Dirty Gum Woodland 170 ha, C2: Smooth-barked Apple – Black Cypress Pine 75.5 ha, C3: White Cypress Pine – Silver-leaved Ironbark – Blakely’s Red Gum 221 ha, C4: White Cypress Pine – Silver-leaved Ironbark – White Box 46 ha, C5: White Cypress Pine – Mugga Ironbark – Silverleaved Ironbark 16 ha.
