Finance is the function of managing the financial affairs of the State, including the budget, revenue collection, setting accounting practices throughout the public sector, and handling issues such as investment, insurance, superannuation and taxation. The function includes regulation of financial institutions and the management of state owned financial institutions. The function also covers oversight and regulation of gambling industries such as lotteries, and racing.
