The Integrated Statutory Environmental Management System (ISEMS) database managed by the Office of Environment and Heritage was accessed for information on licences, applications or notices issued under the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997. Data was obtained on loads of Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Total Nitrogen (TN) and Total Phosphorus (TP) discharged from sewage treatment plants (STPs) into estuarine catchments and the tidal waterway.; ; Point source loads of TSS, TN and TP from STPs were summed together with modelled diffuse source loads to provide estimates of total loads flowing into the catchment or tidal waterway of each estuary.
