Historical vegetation mapping of the Moira Grass Plains VISID 4190, 4191 & 4192

Department of Planning, Industry and Environment

This study involved mapping changes in forest extent, structure, condition and floristics using three sets of historical aerial photography (1945, 1970 and 1991). Comparisons were made between these years and also with the forest structure results obtained from the same methodology implemented by OEH (Bowen et al, 2011). The most significant advances in River Red Gum extent were seen to have taken place between 1970 and 1991.

Please note that 3 separate vegetation datasets were produced: MoiraGrassPlains_1945_E_4190 MoiraGrassPlains_1970_E_4191 MoiraGrassPlains_1991_E_4192
