A Landsat foliage projective cover (FPC) image is available for each Landsat image in the OEH archive. They are based on a calibrated relationship between field measurement and the imagery and are similar to greenness index images. Individual date FPC images will not always accurately represent the FPC of woody vegetgation as overstory and understory vegetation cannot be seperated under certain seasonal coditions. The data is generally used in a time series analysis to generate products such as the woody extent and FPC product or for monitoring trends in vegetation over time.
