Watsons Creek Nature Reserve and State Conservation Area Vegetation 2017 VIS_ID 4695

Department of Planning, Industry and Environment

Watsons Creek Nature Reserve (NR) and State Conservation Area (SCA), covering a combined area of approximately 1911 ha, are both located on the western edge of the Northern Tablelands in north-eastern NSW. In 2017, the Northern Tablelands office of the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) commissioned Eco Logical Australia (ELA) to conduct a comprehensive vegetation survey of both reserves. Given the SCA adjoins the two separate blocks of the NR it was considered appropriate to combine both reserves into a single continuous study area for the purposes of the vegetation survey and the resulting report. Vegetation across the study area was mapped using high resolution ADS40 aerial imagery via a 2D computer screen interface. A total of 23 polygons were captured collectively representing five Plant Community Types (PCTs). None of the vegetation communities were considered to meet the criteria of any currently listed Threatened Ecological Communities (TECs). VIS_ID 4695
