Mission 1 | Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water
Effective mine rehabilitation is a critical priority for the NSW Government, supported by a $13.6 million investment over four years in the 2024-25 Budget. Large mine rehabilitation data was not accessible to the public until its release on the Sharing and Enabling Environmental Data (SEED) portal in September 2024, highlighting a significant milestone in transparency and collaboration.
The data release had to be fit-for-purpose for both technical experts and the general public due to its high priority and the wide anticipated interest in this core dataset. This release highlights the value of collaboration through tools and teams, showing how the SEED spatial map serves as a powerful tool for bringing stakeholders together and unlocking the full potential of shared data.
Mission 3 | Department of Customer Service
Multiple regulatory and compliance agencies use ASIC data as the key reference on company structures, office holdings and shareholdings. Access to this data can be costly, is based on a static view provided by dashboards or external partners and often requires multiple requests. This is particularly the case where it is necessary to understand relationships between companies and people that are indirect (for example looking through multiple shareholding layers).
